For a solo US travel advisor, Tern is cheaper: Tern billed annually is $420 a year against $468 for Travefy Core billed annually. At three advisors Tern still wins, $900 against $948, because Tern's agency seat drops to $25 a month once an agency buys three or more. From four advisors up Travefy Core is cheaper, since each extra Travefy seat is $20 a month against Tern's $25, and the gap grows by $60 a year with every hire. On features the split is just as clear. Buy Tern if you want the CRM, scheduling, forms, card authorization and, for agencies, commission reconciliation in one bill. Buy Travefy if the itinerary is your sales document and you want a website builder in the base plan.
Every price below was read off Tern's pricing page and help center and Travefy's pricing page from a US connection. Where a vendor does not publish a number, this piece says so instead of guessing.
Tern vs Travefy pricing at a glance
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | What the plan is for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tern, solo advisor | $49 a month | $35 a month, $420 a year | One advisor paying for their own account. No quarterly option |
| Tern, agency of 3 to 24 | $33 a seat | $25 a seat, $300 a seat a year | Seats bought by the agency. Quarterly is $28 a seat |
| Tern, agency of 25 to 99 | $31 a seat | $23 a seat | Quarterly is $27. 100 to 499 seats drop to $29, $25 and $22 |
| Tern Pro add-on | $19, $39, $99 or $149 a month, billed monthly only | More AI usage and Notetaker hours, custom reporting | |
| Travefy Core | Available, price not shown | $39 a month, $468 a year | Itineraries, proposals, CRM, website builder, commission tracking |
| Travefy Premium | Not shown | $59 a month, $708 a year | Core plus priority chat, phone support, onboarding, domain and email hosting |
| Travefy additional seat | $20 a month on annual Core, $39 a month on Premium | Each advisor after the first | |
| Free trial | Tern 14 days, Travefy 10 days | Tern bills when the trial ends unless you cancel | |
Two lines in that table matter more than the headlines. Tern's $49 is the solo monthly rate, which is the most expensive way to buy Tern, and the agency rate only applies when the agency pays for the seat. Travefy advertises its annual price and does not print the monthly one, so a month to month Travefy plan costs more than $39 by an amount you only see at checkout. Every Tern tier, the Tern Pro add-on and the payment fee are on our Tern pricing page.
Which is cheaper, Tern or Travefy?
It depends on headcount, because the two vendors price a team in opposite ways. Travefy charges for the account and then adds a flat $20 a month for each Core seat after the first. Tern charges every seat the same, but cuts the seat price for agencies that buy three or more.
| Advisors, annual billing | Tern | Travefy Core | Travefy Premium | Cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $420 solo | $468 | $708 | Tern, by $48 |
| 2 | $840 as two solo accounts | $708 | $1,176 | Travefy Core, by $132 |
| 3 | $900, three agency seats | $948 | $1,644 | Tern, by $48 |
| 4 | $1,200 | $1,188 | $2,112 | Travefy Core, by $12 |
| 6 | $1,800 | $1,668 | $3,048 | Travefy Core, by $132 |
| 10 | $3,000 | $2,628 | $4,920 | Travefy Core, by $372 |
| 25 | $6,900 at $23 a seat | $6,228 | $11,940 | Travefy Core, by $672 |
The two advisor row carries a caveat. Tern's pricing page calculator treats one or two seats as the solo plan, while an older Tern help center article lists a one to two seat agency rate of $32 a month on annual billing. At that rate two advisors cost $768, still $60 more than Travefy Core. Check the live figure inside Tern under Settings, Team, Purchase Seats before you commit.
The pattern is simple once you see it. Tern wins where its flat seat meets Travefy's heavier first seat, at one advisor and at exactly three. Everywhere else Travefy Core is cheaper, and the gap widens by $60 a year per advisor until Tern's 25 seat tier trims its annual rate to $23. Against Travefy Premium, Tern is cheaper at every headcount, by $1,248 a year at six advisors.
What each subscription includes
The price gap only means something next to what each bill covers, and the two products bundle different things.

| Credit card authorization | Included | Not listed on the pricing page |
| Commission tracking | Commission reconciliation on agency plans of 3 or more | Included |

| AI | AI tools with a monthly usage allowance, more through Tern Pro | AI content import |

Tern's own framing is that it replaces a CRM such as TravelJoy or HoneyBook, a scheduler such as Calendly, an itinerary builder such as Travefy or AXUS, and a back office such as ClientBase or TRAMS. If you currently pay for a separate scheduler, a forms tool or a back office, add those to the Travefy column before you compare. If Travefy's itinerary builder plus a free calendar link is all you use, the Travefy number is the real one.
The website line cuts the other way. Travefy Core includes a website and landing page builder, which is real money for a new advisor. An advisor who picks Tern and has no site yet will need one elsewhere, whether through a host agency template or an AI website builder, and that cost belongs in the Tern column.
Tern vs Travefy for a new travel agent
For an advisor in the first year, Travefy has a cheaper entry point: the New Travel Agent Program at $25 a month, positioned for advisors entering the industry. Tern has no equivalent discount on its pricing page, so a new solo advisor pays $49 monthly or $420 annually. Against that, Tern's 14 day trial is four days longer than Travefy's, and Tern bundles the scheduling and intake forms a new advisor would otherwise piece together. If your host agency already gives you a booking portal and CRM, the cheapest move is often Travefy's program for the client facing itinerary and nothing else. Seat by seat Travefy math, including the program, is in Travefy pricing.
Tern vs Travefy for a growing agency
An agency is where the decision stops being about the subscription. At six advisors Travefy Core saves $132 a year on seats. Tern's agency plan, though, adds commission reconciliation, supplier payment management, agency wide reporting, shared content and one bill for every seat, and Tern AI can read commission statements to match payments. If commission chasing is costing an owner even two hours a month, the $132 is not the number that decides it.
Two costs belong in the Tern column that the seat table leaves out. The first is AI usage: since July 1, 2026 every Tern plan has a monthly AI allowance shared by AI Chat, Smart Inbox triage, AI Assist, the Chrome extension, the Notetaker and AI Reconciliation, and an advisor who needs more adds Tern Pro at $19 to $149 a month, billed to their own account rather than the agency's. The second is payment collection. When a client pays a planning fee through Tern, Tern adds 0.6 percent on top of Stripe's charges, about $39.30 in total fees on a $1,000 card payment.
What about TravelJoy?
TravelJoy is the third name on most advisor shortlists. Solo, TravelJoy Pro on annual billing is $384 a year, cheaper than Tern at $420 and Travefy Core at $468, but TravelJoy's $19 Starter plan stops at twelve trips a year. At three advisors TravelJoy Premium's first year rate of $948 matches Travefy Core exactly and sits $48 above Tern. Past that, TravelJoy shows its team seat price only inside the app. The full breakdown is on our TravelJoy pricing page, and the TravelJoy and Travefy head to head is in TravelJoy vs Travefy pricing.
Can you switch from Travefy to Tern?
Yes. Neither vendor publishes a migration fee, so the cost of switching is time. Client records and future trips move most easily; itineraries you built as polished Travefy proposals are the slow part, because layout does not travel between builders. The pattern that works for most agencies is to start new trips in the new platform from a fixed date, finish trips already in progress where they started, and cancel the old subscription after the last final payment clears. Tern bills when its 14 day trial ends, so start the trial on a real client trip rather than an empty week.
What neither Tern nor Travefy does
Both products are where a trip gets presented, paid for and tracked. Tern AI imports and tidies itineraries and activities, and Travefy imports content into its builder. Neither one decides what nine days in Portugal for a couple with a $6,000 budget should contain, which day the Sintra trip fits, or whether dinner in Alfama leaves room in the budget. That research is still where an advisor's evenings go.
That step is what TripAgent.ai covers. You describe the client and the trip, meaning destination, length, party, budget and style, and it writes a day by day itinerary with morning, afternoon and evening blocks, an estimated cost on activities, food and local transport, travel times between stops and a running total against the budget. You ask for any day to be rewritten, export the plan and rebuild what you keep inside Tern or Travefy instead of starting from a blank page. TripAgent.ai does not book anything and is not a CRM. The planner is at the top of this page. Plans are $49, $99 and $199 a month, or half that billed annually, and an account opens with a one-time demo. Frequently asked questions about Tern vs Travefy
Is Tern better than Travefy?
Tern is better for advisors and agencies that want the CRM, scheduling, forms, card authorization and, on agency plans, commission reconciliation in one subscription. Travefy is better for advisors whose itinerary is the sales document and who want a website builder included. Solo, Tern annual is $420 a year against $468 for Travefy Core.
How much does Tern cost compared to Travefy?
Tern costs $49 a month or $420 a year for a solo advisor, and $33, $28 or $25 a seat a month on monthly, quarterly or annual billing for an agency of 3 to 24. Travefy Core is $39 a month and Premium $59, both billed annually, plus $20 or $39 a month for each additional seat.
Which has the longer free trial, Tern or Travefy?
Tern's free trial runs 14 days and Travefy's runs 10 days. Tern starts billing when the trial ends unless you cancel first, and it does not give existing users or agents a second trial. Start either trial on the plan you would actually buy, with a real client trip to build.
Is Tern or Travefy cheaper for a travel agency?
Travefy Core is cheaper for most agencies. At six advisors on annual billing Travefy Core is $1,668 a year against $1,800 for Tern, because Travefy's extra seats are $20 a month and Tern's agency seats are $25. Tern is cheaper at exactly three advisors, $900 against $948, and cheaper than Travefy Premium at every size.
Does Tern replace Travefy?
Tern includes its own itinerary and proposal builder, and Tern lists Travefy among the tools it replaces, so most advisors who move to Tern cancel Travefy. If TravelJoy is the third name on your shortlist, the numbers are in Tern vs TravelJoy pricing. The exception is an advisor who relies on Travefy's website and landing page builder, which Tern's pricing page does not list.
