What is the best alternative to Expensify?

How much does Expensify cost, really?
Collect is a flat $5 per member per month with no annual commitment, which is genuinely good value for a small team that needs receipts, approvals, reimbursement and a QuickBooks or Xero sync. Control is $18 per member per month on a 12-month annual subscription, or $36 per member with no commitment.
The number to be careful with is $9. It exists, but only for annual Control workspaces earning the full 50 percent Expensify Card discount, and that discount is proportional to the share of approved dollar expenses that ran on the Expensify Card during the billing month. Split your spend across two card programs and you land between $9 and $18, recalculated every month. There is also a subscription-size mechanic on annual Control: you are billed for every member inside the size you nominated whether they were active or not, and any active member above that size is billed at the pay-per-use rate.

If SAP Concur is the other name on your shortlist, the two are hard to compare because they charge for opposite units: Concur prices per expense report with unlimited users, Expensify per member with unlimited reports. Read that table as two separate decisions rather than one price list. The first four rows are the expense product and they turn on commitment and card share; the last two are the travel product and they turn on how often your travelers change plans. A company with 40 members on annual Control and 200 trips a year is looking at roughly $8,640 in subscription plus $3,000 in booking fees, and the second number is the one nobody models in advance.
The $9 line is where quotes and reality diverge most often. It is real, it is achievable, and it is conditional on card share every single month, so a company that runs even a third of its spend on an incumbent corporate card program never sees it. If a proposal shows you $9 a member, ask what card share it assumes and what the bill looks like at your actual share.
Does Expensify do travel booking?
Yes, and better than most people expect. Expensify Travel books flights, hotels and car rentals, is included on the Collect plan, and charges a flat $15 per trip covering all three components as a single booking, with 24/7 support and duty of care. Changes a traveler makes without help are free; a change routed through support is $25.
A flat per-trip fee is unusual in this market and it is worth understanding before you compare it to anything else. Most corporate travel platforms take a percentage of the booking, so $15 on a $2,400 international fare is dramatically cheaper than the 3 percent that percentage models would charge. On a $180 domestic flight the comparison flips. If your team flies long-haul, Expensify Travel is one of the cheapest ways to book it.
What the fee does not buy is planning or recovery. Expensify hands the traveler a policy-filtered search, records the result, and reconciles the spend beautifully afterward. It does not sequence the days around the meetings and it does not find you a new flight at midnight.
