TravelJoy is the CRM and itinerary platform a lot of independent US travel advisors start on, partly because it publishes its prices. The trouble is that the price most people quote is the wrong one. The $19 Starter plan stops at twelve trips a year, the Pro price changes by $7 a month depending on how you pay, and a third plan, Premium, now sits above both with its own monthly and annual rate. Most pricing roundups still describe TravelJoy as a two plan product.

Day-by-day itinerary · a cost on every line · rebuilds any day on request

The short answer

TravelJoy has three plans. Starter is $19 a month and is capped at 12 trips a year. Pro is $39 a month, or $32 a month billed annually ($384 a year), with unlimited trips, AI and automations, group bookings and add-on team members. Premium is $79 a month billed annually ($948 for the first year at an introductory rate) or $99 month to month, and bundles SMS texting, the Zapier integration, email marketing, ten times the Copilot AI usage and extra Pro accounts. Every plan starts with a 7 day free trial and no credit card. The number most comparisons miss is processing: client card payments cost 5 percent plus 30 cents on Starter and 3.5 percent plus 30 cents on Pro, so an advisor collecting more than about $10,400 a year through TravelJoy recovers the Pro upgrade in fees alone.

Every figure below was read off TravelJoy's own pricing page, its Premium page and its help center from a US connection. Where TravelJoy does not publish a number, and there are two of those, this page says so instead of guessing. It also works the three break even points that decide which plan you should actually buy: Starter against Pro on processing fees, Pro against Premium on add-ons, and annual against monthly.

Why it works

Three things that decide what TravelJoy actually costs you

The Starter cap is 12 trips a year

Starter is the cheapest CRM in the category at $19 a month, and it stops at twelve trips a year with no AI, no automations, no group bookings and no team members. More than one trip a month means Pro.

Processing fees change with the plan

Client card payments cost 5 percent plus 30 cents on Starter and 3.5 percent plus 30 cents on Pro. Bank transfers cost 3 percent against 1.5 percent. On real payment volume the fee gap is bigger than the subscription gap.

Premium is priced against its own add-ons

Premium bundles SMS at $49, 10x Copilot at $49, Zapier at $29 and email campaigns at $29, each sold separately on Pro. On annual billing, one $49 add-on on Pro already costs more than Premium.

How much does TravelJoy cost?

TravelJoy costs $19 a month on Starter, $39 a month on Pro or $32 a month if Pro is billed annually, and $79 a month on Premium billed annually or $99 a month month to month. Starter is sold monthly only. All three plans begin with a 7 day free trial that asks for no credit card, and TravelJoy states you can cancel any time.

Put on a yearly basis, the real range is $228 a year for Starter at the bottom and $1,188 a year for Premium on monthly billing at the top. The plan most full time advisors end up on is Pro annual at $384 a year, because Starter runs out of trips and Premium is priced for advisors who want texting, automation into other tools and a small team inside one subscription.

TravelJoy plan Monthly billing Annual billing Cost for a year
Starter $19 a month Not offered $228
Pro $39 a month $32 a month $468 monthly, $384 annual
Premium $99 a month $79 a month, first year $1,188 monthly, $948 annual

Two cautions on that table. The $79 Premium rate is an introductory discount, described as $948 billed annually for the first year, so the renewal price in year two is not something TravelJoy has published. And TravelJoy's own help center answer to how much TravelJoy costs sends existing members to Settings and then Membership inside the app for current pricing, so an account that signed up on an older rate can see a different number from the public page.

TravelJoy Starter vs Pro: when does Pro pay for itself?

Pro pays for itself in one of two ways, and most advisors hit the first before they notice the second. The first is the trip cap. Starter allows 12 trips a year, so an advisor who closes more than one trip a month has no choice: the thirteenth trip needs Pro. Starter also leaves out AI and automations, group bookings and team members, which rules it out for anyone selling group travel.

The second is processing. TravelJoy lets you collect client payments directly on its invoices, and the fee depends on the plan. Card payments cost 5 percent plus 30 cents on Starter and 3.5 percent plus 30 cents on Pro. Bank transfers cost 3 percent on Starter and 1.5 percent on Pro. That 1.5 point gap applies to every dollar you collect through TravelJoy.

Pro annual costs $156 a year more than Starter ($384 against $228). At a 1.5 point saving, that is recovered once you collect about $10,400 a year through TravelJoy. On Pro monthly the gap is $240 a year and the break even is $16,000. An advisor running planning fees, deposits and final payments through TravelJoy invoices crosses that line quickly.

Collected by card through TravelJoy in a year Fees on Starter, 5% Fees on Pro, 3.5% Pro saves on fees
$5,000 $250 $175 $75
$10,400 $520 $364 $156, the annual break even
$25,000 $1,250 $875 $375
$50,000 $2,500 $1,750 $750
$100,000 $5,000 $3,500 $1,500

The table leaves out the 30 cent per transaction charge because it is identical on both plans. TravelJoy also lets you pass the processing fee to the client as a convenience fee on the invoice, and its help center works the example itself: on a $100 invoice at 3.5 percent plus 30 cents, the convenience fee that leaves you with exactly $100 is $3.94, not $3.80, because the fee is charged on the total including itself. TravelJoy also notes that convenience fees are prohibited in some jurisdictions, so check your state before switching it on.

What is TravelJoy Premium and how much does it cost?

TravelJoy Premium is the tier above Pro. It costs $79 a month billed annually, which TravelJoy states is $948 billed annually for the first year at an introductory discount, or $99 a month on monthly billing. Premium includes everything in Pro plus SMS text messaging with clients, the Zapier integration, email marketing and newsletters, ten times the Copilot AI usage, a weekly refresh of the Opportunities tab, integrated cruise booking, enhanced support and additional Pro accounts.

TravelJoy sells four of those pieces separately to Pro members, and publishes each price: unlimited email campaigns at $29 a month, 10x Copilot usage at $49 a month, the Zapier integration at $29 a month, and SMS at $49 a month, which TravelJoy says includes a dedicated local phone number and up to 1,000 messages a month. The Premium page values two Pro team memberships and one assistant at $40 a month inside the bundle, and lists the extra accounts elsewhere on the same page as 3 free Pro accounts.

What you want on top of Pro Pro annual plus add-ons Premium annual Cheaper route
Zapier only $32 + $29 = $61 a month $79 a month Pro with the add-on, by $18
SMS only $32 + $49 = $81 a month $79 a month Premium, by $2
10x Copilot only $32 + $49 = $81 a month $79 a month Premium, by $2
Zapier and email campaigns $32 + $58 = $90 a month $79 a month Premium, by $11
All four add-ons $32 + $156 = $188 a month $79 a month Premium, by $109

On annual billing the rule is short: one $49 add-on or two $29 ones and Premium is already the cheaper way to buy them. On monthly billing it takes a little more. Pro at $39 plus one $49 add-on is $88, still under the $99 Premium monthly rate, but any second add-on tips it: $39 plus $49 plus $29 is $117. So on monthly terms Premium wins at two add-ons, and on annual terms it wins at one of the $49 ones.

The honest caveat is the renewal. Every row above uses the first year Premium rate. If TravelJoy lifts Premium after the introductory year and your add-on need is a single $29 item, Pro plus that add-on stays the better buy.

How much does TravelJoy cost for a team?

TravelJoy does not publish its team seat price. Its help center says team member and assistant accounts are offered at a discounted rate based on the account type, and that the price is shown inside the app under Settings, then Team, then Add member, in the Account Type dropdown. That is the second number on this page we will not invent.

What TravelJoy does publish is how team billing works. The team owner chooses, per invitation, whether to pay for a team member or have that member pay for their own subscription. When the owner pays, the seat is bundled into the owner's subscription and charged prorated for the rest of the monthly or annual cycle. Assistant accounts can only be paid for by the owner. TravelJoy also restricts team membership to verifiable employees or independent contractors of the owner's agency, so a loose group of advisors cannot share one team to reach the discounted rate.

Premium changes the arithmetic for a small agency, because its bundle carries two Pro team memberships and one assistant. An owner plus two advisors plus an assistant on Premium annual is $948 for the first year. The same three advisors on Travefy Core annual are $39 a month plus two seats at $20, which is $79 a month or $948 a year. The two products land on the same dollar for a three advisor agency, which makes the choice a feature decision rather than a price one. Our TravelJoy vs Travefy pricing comparison works that decision through at one, three and six advisors.

TravelJoy vs Travefy and AXUS on price

The three platforms a US leisure advisor usually shortlists are priced on three different logics. TravelJoy prices the plan and caps the cheap one. Travefy prices the account and discounts every additional seat. AXUS prices every seat the same.

Platform Cheapest entry Full working plan, one advisor, per year Trial
TravelJoy Starter, $19 a month, 12 trips a year Pro annual, $384 7 days, no card
Travefy New Travel Agent Program, $25 a month Core annual, $468 10 days
AXUS Travel App Monthly seat, $35 Yearly seat, $329 14 days, no card

For a solo advisor AXUS yearly is the cheapest full plan and TravelJoy Pro annual is $55 behind it, while Travefy Core costs the most but includes a website and landing page builder and commission tracking in the base plan. The AXUS number carries a cancellation clause worth reading first, covered on our AXUS Travel App pricing page, and the Travefy figures are broken down seat by seat in Travefy pricing. For the whole stack, host portal included, see travel agent software.

Is TravelJoy worth it?

For an independent advisor who closes more than a dozen trips a year and takes client payments online, TravelJoy Pro on annual billing is good value: $384 a year for a CRM, forms, invoicing, payment collection, proposals, itineraries and group bookings, with a processing rate that recovers most of the subscription on modest volume. TravelJoy is a weaker fit if your host agency already includes a CRM and itinerary builder, because you would be paying twice for the same records.

Starter is worth it for exactly one kind of advisor: someone part time who will not pass twelve trips in the year and takes few payments by card. Premium is worth it once you would otherwise buy SMS or the heavier Copilot allowance on top of Pro, or once you are adding a second advisor and an assistant.

The work TravelJoy does not price

TravelJoy is an administration and presentation layer, and a good one. TravelJoy stores the client, TravelJoy formats the proposal and itinerary, TravelJoy collects the payment and TravelJoy tracks the commission. Its Copilot turns notes, emails and prompts into a clean, client ready itinerary format. What none of the plans above do is decide what a nine day Portugal trip for a couple with a $6,000 budget should contain on day three, and that research is where an advisor's evenings go.

That is the step TripAgent.ai covers. You describe the client and the trip, meaning destination, length, party, total budget and style, and it writes a day by day itinerary with morning, afternoon and evening blocks, a cost on every line, travel times between stops and a total against the budget. You cut what does not suit the client, ask for any single day to be rewritten, and carry an edited draft into TravelJoy instead of a blank template. The planner is at the top of this page; plans are $19, $39 and $79 a month, or half that billed annually, and an account opens with a one-time demo.

Advisors weighing where the drafting step fits alongside the CRM they already run will find the longer version in AI for travel agents.
