Fyle pricing in 2026 is $11.99 per active user a month on the Growth plan and $14.99 on Business, both billed annually, or $14.99 and $17.99 on monthly billing. Growth bills a minimum of 5 users and Business a minimum of 10, and Enterprise is quoted for companies with 250 or more employees. Fyle now sells under the name Sage Expense Management after Sage bought it in July 2025, so the pricing page you land on carries the Sage name. Every figure here was read off that US pricing page in September 2026.
The number that matters most is the word "active". You pay only for people who actually used the product in a month, which makes Fyle cheaper than its per user rate suggests for any company where a minority of staff travel. The rest of this piece works out what the plans cost at real team sizes, what sits outside the per user price, and how the bill compares with Zoho Expense, Expensify, SAP Concur and Ramp.
Sage Expense Management pricing plans in full
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Minimum billing | Built for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $11.99 per active user a month | $14.99 per active user a month | 5 users | Small teams on QuickBooks Online or Xero with existing company cards |
| Business | $14.99 per active user a month | $17.99 per active user a month | 10 users | Multi entity companies, Sage Intacct and Sage 300 CRE shops, ACH reimbursement |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Companies with 250+ employees | SSO with AD or Okta, IP whitelisting, a dedicated account manager |
Annual billing takes $3 off each active user every month on both paid plans, a 20 percent saving on Growth and about 17 percent on Business. Every tier on Fyle's page is a paid one, and each leads to a demo rather than a self serve signup, so expect a sales call before you see the product.
What Fyle means by an active user
Sage Expense Management counts a user as active in a month when that person creates at least one expense, or has a corporate card connected to the product with at least one transaction on it that month. Everyone else can sit in the account at no charge. You can onboard the whole company and pay only for the people who spent money.
That rule has a catch worth knowing before you sign. Connecting a card is enough to make someone billable. If you link every company card and a card that belongs to an office manager carries one software subscription a month, that person is an active user every month even though they never file a report. Keep cards that only carry recurring vendor charges out of the tool, or accept them as seats.
The minimum is the second catch. Growth bills at least 5 users and Business at least 10, active or not. A three person team on Growth pays for five, so the real entry price is $59.95 a month billed annually, not $11.99.
How much does Fyle cost per month at your team size?
Here is what each plan bills when the number in the left column is the count of people who actually spent money that month, which is the only number Fyle charges on.
| Active users a month | Growth, annual | Growth, monthly | Business, annual | Business, monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | $59.95 ($719.40 a year) | $74.95 | $149.90 (10 user minimum) | $179.90 (10 user minimum) |
| 10 | $119.90 ($1,438.80 a year) | $149.90 | $149.90 ($1,798.80 a year) | $179.90 |
| 25 | $299.75 ($3,597 a year) | $374.75 | $374.75 ($4,497 a year) | $449.75 |
| 50 | $599.50 ($7,194 a year) | $749.50 | $749.50 ($8,994 a year) | $899.50 |
| 100 | $1,199 ($14,388 a year) | $1,499 | $1,499 ($17,988 a year) | $1,799 |
Notice that Business on annual billing costs exactly what Growth costs on monthly billing. If you are already paying Growth month to month and need multi stage approvals or ACH reimbursements, moving to Business on an annual contract adds the features without raising the per user rate.
Fyle is now Sage Expense Management, and the old prices are still everywhere
Sage announced the acquisition of Fyle on July 28, 2025, and the product was renamed Sage Expense Management across the web app, the mobile app and the help center. The URL is still fylehq.com, and the pricing page title reads "Sage Expense Management (formerly Fyle)".
The rename matters for your research because the review sites have not caught up. Several of the pages that rank for Fyle pricing still quote a Standard plan at $4.99 and a Business plan at $8.99 per user, which were Fyle's older list prices. Those plans no longer exist under those names. If a quote or a comparison sheet in front of you shows $4.99, it is working from stale data, and the current floor is $11.99 per active user on an annual Growth contract.
One more line on the pricing page is easy to miss. Sage says pricing may differ for existing Sage Intacct customers and tells them to ask their Sage account manager. If you already run Intacct, treat the published rates as the ceiling and ask for the bundled number before you compare.
What costs extra on top of the per user price
The per user rate covers the core product. Five things on the pricing page are marked as additional:
- QuickBooks Desktop. The integration exists on every plan and is marked "additional cost applicable" on all three. QuickBooks Online and Xero are included.
- Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate. Available on Business with "Sage fees as applicable", which means a second line on the invoice.
- Two way integrations on Business. Business lists a one time implementation fee for its two way integrations with Sage Intacct and Sage 300 CRE. The amount is not published.
- Single sign on. Optional on Business for an additional fee. Google SSO and SSO with Active Directory or Okta are included only on Enterprise.
- Premium support on Growth. Growth includes email and knowledge base support. Live chat during business hours is an optional paid add on. Business includes live chat and a named account manager.
For a small QuickBooks Online company on Growth, none of these apply and the published rate is the whole bill. For a construction firm on Sage 300 CRE that needs SSO, three of them do, and the first year will run well above the table above.
Fyle pricing vs Zoho Expense, Expensify, SAP Concur and Ramp
Each of these products bills on a different meter, which is why a side by side of list prices misleads. Here is the published 2026 US pricing for each.
| Product | How it bills | Published US price | Minimum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sage Expense Management (Fyle) | Per active user a month | $11.99 Growth, $14.99 Business, billed annually | 5 users (Growth), 10 users (Business) |
| Zoho Expense | Per user a month, or per active user | $3 Standard, $5 Premium, billed annually; free for up to 3 users | 5 paid users |
| Expensify | Per member a month | $5 Collect, $18 Control on an annual plan | None published |
| SAP Concur | Per expense report | Base from $7 a report, Plus from $11 a report, unlimited users | None published |
| Ramp | Free plan, then per user | $0 on the free plan, $15 per user a month on Plus | Requires the Ramp card |
Work one real example. A 40 person company where 12 people spend money in a normal month and each files two reports:
- Fyle Growth, annual: 12 active users at $11.99 is $143.88 a month. The other 28 people cost nothing.
- Zoho Expense Standard, all user: 40 users at $3 is $120 a month, cheaper even though everyone is billed.
- SAP Concur Base: 24 reports at $7 is $168 a month, and it rises every time travel picks up.
- Expensify Collect: 40 members at $5 is $200 a month if everyone is a member of the workspace.
- Ramp: $0 on the free plan, but only if you move your company cards to Ramp.
The reading is straightforward. Fyle is not the cheapest line on the list. It wins in two specific situations: when you want to keep the Visa, Mastercard or Amex cards you already have (Ramp needs its own card), and when you run Sage Intacct or Sage 300 CRE, where it is now the native option. If your books are in Zoho and cost is the only criterion, Zoho Expense costs less, which we price out in detail in our guide to Zoho Expense pricing per user. If you are weighing it against the per report model, see how much Concur costs per user and per month, and for the whole field on one page, our list of Concur competitors with their published prices.
Does Fyle have a free plan or a free trial?
No. Every tier Sage Expense Management lists is paid, and the pricing page offers a demo on Growth and Business and a contact form on Enterprise rather than a self serve trial. The closest thing to free is the active user rule: people who spend nothing in a month cost nothing, so a company can load its whole staff at no charge and pay only as people start filing.
Is Fyle worth it for a US small business?
For a company that already runs Sage Intacct or Sage 300 CRE, yes. It is now Sage's own expense product, the two way integration is native, and the Intacct pricing is negotiated with your existing account. Construction firms in particular get project expense tracking and receipt capture by text message, which suits crews who will never open an app in a truck.
For a QuickBooks Online or Xero company with 10 to 50 people who keep their current bank cards, Growth is a fair price for what it does: receipts by text, email and phone, real time card feeds from Visa, Mastercard and Amex, per diem and mileage, and automated card reconciliation, at $11.99 a head only for the people who spent. The Business plan earns its extra $3 when you need multi stage approvals, ACH reimbursement or more than one entity.
It is harder to justify when your team is under five people (you pay for five anyway), when almost everyone spends every month (the active user discount disappears and Zoho is cheaper per head), or when you would happily switch cards to get Ramp's free plan. Finance teams that also report business travel emissions can feed the same categorized spend into Scope 3 carbon accounting software, since the expense record already holds the flights and hotel nights that calculation needs.
The part an expense tool does not cover
Everything above, Fyle included, starts once the money is spent. Sage Expense Management captures the receipt, matches it to the card line, routes the approval and posts the entry. Its integration list even names Perk for travel bookings. What none of these tools do is tell you, before anyone books, what a trip should look like day by day and what it will cost in total, which is where a lot of the overspend it later records is actually decided.
That is the job TripAgent.ai does. You give it the destination, the dates, who is going and a budget, and it writes the itinerary day by day with a cost estimate on the flight from your city, each night's stay, and the activities, food and local transport, totaled per day and for the trip. The traveler or the office manager then reserves the flights and rooms where they normally would, and the expense tool records the result. For company trips it works as a business travel planner, and the trip cost calculator page shows how the total is built. Plans start at $49 a month after a one-time demo.
